Aston Martin Vanquish
First Introduced as a concept car at the
North American International Auto Show
in early 1998, the production Vanquish was revealed in 2000 and
available to the public in 2001. It was basically unchanged until 2005 when the S
model was introduced adding 60hp and some slight modifications to
other areas.
The transmission is an automated clutchless Manual with paddle
shifters but has had lots of reliability issues so an
normal 6-speed Manual refit was offered in 2007. 0-96km/h
(0-60mph) takes 4.4 seconds for the normal version and 4.0 seconds for
the S version. The normal version can hit about 315km/h (196mph)
while the S tops out at 328km/h (204mph). The Vanquish was also
featured in the 2001 James Bond Film Die Another Day. The Vanquish
is now discontinued but will have a replacement by 2010.
