Audi R8
The Audi R8 is takes it's name from the
Famous Audi R8 LMP that won the Le Mans in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004,
and 2005. It was launched in late 2006 with an 420hp V8
and an 6- speed transmission but an V10 with 493hp was added this
year. With the engine in the rear, weight
distribution is very good with only slightly more weight in
the rear due to the mid mounted engine. With the V-10, an R8 can hit
96km/h (60mph) in 3.7 seconds.
Because Audi AG also owns Lamborghini, the
Gallardo shares some of it's components with the R8. The
concept version was called the Le Mans Quattro and had an Twin Turbocharged
and advanced V-10 producing 602hp. '
