SSC Ultimate Aero
The SSC Ultimate Aero is the fastest and
most powerful road car ever with 1046hp powering the Aero to a
claimed top speed of 418km/h (260mph) and a proven top speed of
413km/h (257mph). To make this possible the there is carbon fiber
and titanium throughout the car. This also helps keep the weight to a low
2850 pounds(1,293kg)
The doors open vertically with air pressure
assistance and close when the air pressure is released. Inside the
Ultimate Aero is spacious and can comfortably seat people up to
nearly 2m (6feet) tall. Surprisingly the SSC Ultimate Aero is faster than
the Bugatti Veyron but is half the price at $620,000US price tag compared to
about $1.5 millionUS for the Veyron. Building this car was no easy
task as lead designer Jerod Shelby and his crew spent 7 years
designing and perfecting the SSC Ultimate Aero.
For 2009, the
Ultimate Aero is geared for an insane top speed of 287mph (462km/h)
and has better cooling capacity. The nose and interior are also
different. There is a new rear spoiler that acts as an airbrake when
the brakes pedal is pressed.
